The Summoner FAQ

We keep on seeing the same questions being asked, so I figured I’d work on this FAQ to help out the newer people.
If you can think of anything that should be added, let me know.
Q: Should I go Twin or Staff?
A: Obviously, if you want to be more of a caster then you should go Staff and a more melee minded person should go Twin.
Staff is more about hard single hits while most Twin skills hit multiple times and have constant knockbacks (meaning they’re not hitting you). However, while Twin IS the melee spec for Summoners you need to remember that you’re still not a Knight or Bagi. While Twin is a great low level spec, as you get higher you’ll notice the other melee guys start getting much more defence and begin hurting you much much more.
While you’re more melee oriented than a Staff Summoner, you have to remember that you ARE still a Summoner. You have ranged skills and should take advantage of them when you can. Don’t limit yourself to being a squishy Dual Wield Knight.
As for how they level and perform in PvP…. leveling wise, they both have their advantages and disadvantages. Staff, with their slow from Vicious Thorns and knockback from their pet, can keep melee mobs from ever getting to them. This lets them kill MUCH higher level mobs, which means you can make large ammounts of Dill by selling any of the higher level items you get that you can’t use.
That’s not to say Twin can’t do the same thing, but since they’re already in melee range there’s always the chance that the mob can slip a hit in or that you can pull adds if you’re not careful.
The bad part of leveling with Staff is that your mana bar will disapear VERY fast. You’re going to be guzzling down mana pots faster than you can imagine. Twin, on the other hand, isn’t as harsh on your mana bar. Thanks to their skills hitting multiple times, you get much more “bang for your mana” with Twin, which means less potion trips (unless you’re taking a beating, then you may just be trading a disapearing mana bar with a disapearing HP bar).
As for PvP….. both can do great at low levels, but Twin is better overall. As you get higher, Staff starts to get better simply because Twin has more and more trouble surviving in melee.
If you want to powergame, then go Twin until about 80-90, then respec to Staff. If it doesn’t matter to you, then spec whichever you like. Staff may be better at endgame, but they’re both viable specs.
Q: What element type are Staff and Staff/Twin skills?
A: Poison. The only one I’m a little unsure of is Spirit Daggers, but for now I’m just going to asume it’s poison as well.
Q: What do Vicious Mastery and Blade Mastery do?
Blade Mastery increases your Physical Attack stat by 3% per point. So maxed it it’ll give a 30% boost to your physical damage.
Vicious Mastery increases your Magic Attack stat by 3# and your Poison resist by a little with every point. Maxed out, it’ll give your Magic damage a 30% boost and increase your Poison Resist by 15%.
Q: How should I spend my stats?
Personally, I advise anyone to spend enough STR/SPR to use your weapon of choice then put the rest in Heal. The majority of your damage comes from your skills anyway, and I don’t feel an extra 3 or so damage per point is an even exchange for higher Defence, HP, and Shield. A dead Summoner deals no damage.
However, if you want a little more oomph in your attacks, then I’ve heard good things about 3STR/2Heal (Twin) and 3SPR/2Heal (Staff). Just make sure you meet the stat requirments for your weapon of choice.
While I encourage Twin Summoners to take advantages of some of the Twin/Staff spells they can use, I wouldn’t advise any Twin users to spec any more SPR than needed for your weapon. Melee is still where the majority of your damage comes from.
Ignore dex.
Q: Should I max out Evolt Shot/Spirit Daggers/Blood Bats?
A: The Evolt Shot/Spirit Daggers thing is more or less based on playstyle.
Personally, I feel that everyone should max out Evolt Shot. It’s VERY low on mana cost, casts almost instantly, and recharges almost as fast. As a Staff user, it’s great for filling out your attack pattern when your other skills are still cooling down. As a Twin user, it’s a great pulling skill and nice for softing up something that might tear you appart in full melee or getting a few hits on some kiter in PvP.
Spirit Daggers, on the other hand, I’ve never been real fond of. It does more damage than Evolt Shot, but the casting time is, in my opinion, horrendous for the low ammount of damage it actually does. Evolt is at least a very short cast, Spirit Daggers feels like it’s taking an eternity when used in PvP.
That’s not to say Daggers is horrible. I’d definatly play with it first as soon as you get it, though, and decide if you can see yourself using this at any point later on. If you think you’d rather use this insead of Evolt, go ahead.
As for Blood Bats, this is another that I feel everyone should max out. Not only does it do a nice ammount of damage, but it’s got a ghetto AoE and has a chance of healing us when we use it. This is one of the few buffs we as a class get and it should be milked for all it’s worth, in my opinion. Now, when I say max these I don’t mean you have to max it out ASAP. If you have other skills that are more important to you, then pump them up insead. While these skills are worth putting points into, you shouldn’t bump these up if it means you won’t be able to build up bigger, more important attacks.
Q: *summon type* for *weapon type* is best, right?
A: Libido for Staff, Beast for Sword. No reason to do it any other way. Libido debuffs magic resist, Beast debuffs defence.
But, hey! Beast has range!
So does Libido.
Grewpain slows things down! This makes it easier for Staff to kite!
Vicious Thorn has a slow on it already, you don’t need another useless slow stacked on top of it. You’re going to be killing most whites before they get to you either way, so there’s no point.
Also, as far as PvP goes, Grewpain having a slow is just more reason for Twins to go Beast.
Beast is better for tanking (more block chance from mastery!). A caster needs a tank!
Just resummon your pet if it dies. Both can take hits fine.
This is getting me mad just typing this, so that’s enough justification for now. Staff goes Libido, Sword goes Beast. Stop fighting it.
The only thing that may change this are the new summons comming out soon. We’ll have to wait and see what they bring.
Q: Do magic and elemental gems affect your physical attack?
A: I haven’t tried magic (and I REALLY doubt magic damage works, since it adds directly do your Magic ATK stat) but I DO know that ELEMENTAL DAMAGE GEMS INCREASE YOUR PHYSICAL ATTACK DAMAGE!
Yes! It does! Stop claiming otherwise! I don’t care what some braindead closed beta player said, it works. Try it for yourself before you start arguing. And if you do try it and it somehow “doesn’t work” you did something wrong, so don’t bother trying to argue either way.
However, there are a few things that makes physical damage gems better. For one, Twin Mastery is a passive skill that increases your Physical ATK stat by 30%. Physical damage gems will be affected by this bonus whlie elemental damage won’t.
I’ve heard that elemental damage also doesn’t affect critical hit damage (something about physical criticals only doing your Physical Attack * 2). I don’t know how true this is since I didn’t test critical damage when I tried out elemental gems, but it’s something to consider.
Q: How do my weapons glow!
A: You need to fill the weapon’s sockets with elemental gems or Rhombuses and such.
I’d make a list of colors, but no one can agree on what gems make what colored glow and I don’t have any gems left to try it out myself. I’ll add one later if I can.
Q: What about armor?
A: Armor can “glow” by using the argate system. It’s more of a shine than a glow, though.
Q: Hey, that guy’s Trantula looks way better than mine! How do I get one like it?
A: The way your pet looks is dependant on your skill level with that pet. The “normal” look is for skill levels 1-2, then it changes at 3, and again at 5.

Vicious Summoner FAQ: Beast or Libido

Its all about preference.
:: Libido Advantages ::
Tarantula will help you kill things really fast, even in middle levels like 60-70
Tarantula helps in PVP, while you rape the enemy shield with your sword, it eats the enemy HP.
Aldebaran has the highest stun ratio, so the enemy cant run or attack, and high level aldebaran has a pretty decent damage and HP.
:: Beast Advantages ::
I always forget the bird name lolz….what ever
The bird has a high chance to slow the enemy, its good for both staff and sword summoners.
As it prevents you from getting hit very often. (still aldebaran stun/damage/hp is better)
Bregon has the highest damage of all pets, and it reduces the enemy defense, although even -100 to enemy defense i dont think its much difference at higher levels.
Still Bregon has the damage.
:: Do not rely on pets ::
Sometimes they are DUMB and let you in danger, specially in PVP.
If you are fighting more than 1 enemy, the pet will change targets often, so you will be vulnerable.
:: Twin swords or Staff ::
Again, its all matter of preference.
The summoner does not have much defense, thats why most of high level people go staff.
Because its ranged.
They are trying to avoid to fight melee against Knights and Bagi, because they would lose for sure.
BUT twin summoners have better damage for the following reasons :
1. Most of high level skills, sword skills have better damage.
2. POISON/MAGIC SKILLS damage receive LITTLE TO NONE damage from SPiRit.
3. PHYSICAL SKILLS are STRONGLY AFFECTED BY STRenght.
:: Stats ::
You will need STR, SPR and HEAL for twin, SPR and HEAL for staff.
DEX IS CRAP, REASONS :
1. Attack Rating does not work shit, even with low attack rate, your skills will be less blocked/guarded than Segnale skills.
That is because, guard/block chance, depends a lot more on the weapon you are using.
Whips are the most blocked/guarded weapon….and segnale has the SECOND HIGHEST ATTACK RATING OF THE GAME
Twin swords are the second, even with low AR, we are less blocked than segnale…ask segnale and she will tell you how much she is blocked by enemies.
2. Normal Attacks/Skills NEVER MISS
You can be blocked/guarded…but you never miss an attack.
3. It is TRUTH that dex raises BLOCK/GUARD chance, but very little.
You would have to have 200+ dex to be a noticeable difference.
Trust me, this game have NOT CHANGED ANYTHING from closed beta to open beta.
The only difference is that, now we can buy mounts from npc.
IF YOU PUT DEX, YOU WONT HAVE ENOUGH POINTS FOR STRENGHT, SPIRIT AND HEALTH
Trust me, ALL CLASSES NEED HEALTH for both pvp and pve.
PVP = more health
PVE = less health, but still need it.
(TWIN) And you need STR because:
You need to do ENOUGH DAMAGE for your enemy be KNOCKED BACK.
If you dont have enough STR or a decent weapon, your enemy wont be knocked back.
NO KNOCKBACK = ENEMY LIVES, YOU DIE!
(TWIN) You need SPR only for weapon requirements.
SPR do NOT increase the damage of summoner skills.
All skills writen POISON, although they are ‘magic’, they are not MAGIC DAMAGE and they are considered POISON DAMAGE.
For example the skill, Evolt shot….
In order to increase its damage, you will need:
-POISON DAMAGE RINGS
-POISON DAMAGE SKULLS IN A SLOTTED WEAPON
-POISON DAMAGE AMULET
-POISON DAMAGE MAGIC/NOBLE/DIVINE/SET EQUIPMENT
-RAISE THE SKILL LEVEL OF THE SKILL, in this case EVOLT SHOT.
Only the skills that have ‘magic damage’ in the skill description, are affected by SPR
If its written POISON, its not affected by SPR, or anything related to magic damage(weapon/jewelry) etc.
(STAFF) Although staff summoners will have higher SPR of course because :
-Staff has higher SPR requirements than SWORD…very obvious.
-You need more MP
ALSO, SPR probably affect the damage from Summon Ghost, Hell Cosmo and Blood Bats.
:: Skills ::
This is really obvious.
Max out the skills you need, to grind your ass to get cosmos.
When you have the level for cosmos skills….RESET.
And max out the strongest skills.
Although the MMOSITE SKILL CHART is a little wrong, it should help you choose your skills.
:: Other ::
If you dont believe me, dont do this, go on your own or read someone elses thread or whatever.
Summoner is a very dynamic class that can adapt to different enemies, its all about strategy.
I will ignore flame.
If you dont like the thread just dont read it anymore.
:: Summoners SUCK at high level? ::
Its not that summoners suck. Its that other classes get better.
Summoners develop fast, because they have access to good skills in lower levels, while other classes develop slower, but they have access to EVEN BETTER skills at higher levels.
Considering both you and your enemy are high level :
-It is obvious you dont want to fight melee against Bagi or Knight.
-It is obvious you dont want to fight in range against Incar or Huntress.
Thats why its all about strategy.
Most of your job will be running/kiting while your pet does the dirty work, then you get in to do your strongest skill…rinse and repeat until your enemy is dead.
:: In lower levels ::
You will probably win most fights, because your pets are too strong against low level players, and because your sword skills are fast, and staff skill poison/slow.

2Moons Guides *HOT* Vicious Summoner Guides (4)

The Vicious Summoner Guide

I decided to write a small guide about the Vicious Summoner to help new (and old?) players play their class more efficiently.
This is based on my experiences of the class (level 44 so far). So not everything might be accurate. I’m hoping to build build up one giant sticky where you can find ALL the information you need about summoners. To do that I need your help. If there is/are flaws on the thread or you have something you would like to have added here please PM me. I would also like to inform you that this is the first guide I’ve ever made on any game and it is based on incomplete information as I have played the game for only 5 days and havent been able to test out all the skills. That’s why I need your help to expand this guide to cover all areas of Summoner gameplay.1. Class Concept (my thoughts)
The Vicious Summoner is a very powerful class in PvE - by controlling powerful summons you can kill enemies much more powerful than you. Many people have said that at higher levels the summoners sucks in PvP. [ego]Today earlier in the day I won 2 out of 2 times a level 47 Azure Knight. I also won 2 out of 2 times a level 51 Incar Magician, so the talks about summoner being sucky in the higher lvls seem to be bullscheiß. [/ego]
The Summoner can be either melee (Twin Sword) or caster (Staff) oriented. Having fast attacks with Twin Swords that can deal quite alot damage but also having various spells that harm the enemy and/or benefit you. Because the Summoner has powerful melee and caster abilities and pets, the defenses of a Summoner are not that great. There’s not much defensive abilities nor high Defense rating. That is why players playing the Summoner should focus on outdamaging their enemies - killing them before they kill you.2. Pets
The Summoner has a large choice of pets to summon and control.
Remember that you can only summon and control only one pet at a time.
The common concept is that if you choose Staff you begin to build on the Beast pet tree and if you go Twin Swords you choose the Libido tree.
Libido
Tarantula
Good: You get it on a relatively low level. It does good damage and in PvP it ignores players’ shield, dealing direct damage to their health. Ranged Attack.
Bad: Gets killed rather easily and has somewhat slow attack speed.
Damage type: Poison
Abilities: Has a chance poison the target dealing poison damage over time.
Aldebaran
Good: High health, high armor, fast attack speed, good damage and a chance to stun the target on hit.
Bad: Sometimes the Aldebaran can get confused when you or it is attacked by two or more monsters. It will just run in-between the monsters.
Damage type: Physical
Abilities: Has a chance to stun the target.
Tentator

2a. Controlling Your Pets
When you attack a single enemy it usually isnt a problem to kill it. But what if you are attacked by a multiple monsters? You should always aim on one thing: you taking as few hits as possible. That can be done by various ways.
Pet Control Types
I will be focusing on Order Attack and Free-modes on this section, the rest 3 functions dont have much to discuss about.
Stop(Shift+R) - Stops your pet. The only thing he will do is that he will be following you.
Call(Shift+E) - Calls the creature to come at you.
Unsummon(Shift+A) - Unsummons the pet.
Quite useless “mode”. This one will make your pet disappear but you dont need to unsummon your pet in order to summon a new pet. The only use I would see for this skill is to unsummon your pet for a petless duel.. then again you can always set it on Stop-mode.
Order Attack(Shift+Q) - Orders your pet to attack the target you command it to attack.
First press the Shift+Q hotkey. Then doubleclick on the enemy you want it to attack and it will do so. Uses on this command are infinite. For an example you can send your pet in the middle of enemies drawing their attention and leaving you free to attack any of the monsters. You can also use it to take aggro off you, or to make it pull monsters. ***There is a bug with this mode. You can only order the pet to attack once and after that you have to press Shift+Q again for it to work***
Free(Shift+W) - The summoned creature will attack freely.
Activate this mode by pressing Shift+W, your summon will then proceed to attack anyone who damages you, who you damage and who damages the summon. There’s many uses for this skill as well, i.e you hit some monster once and your summon will start hitting it grabbing aggro, and you can do it to as many monsters as you want. There’s one downside to this mode though, sometimes when attacked by 2 enemies i.e archers your pet might just run in the middle of the monsters not being able to hit either one of them since it doesnt focus on one monster only.
3. Stats
I will leave DEX out because summoners have no use for that stat.
SPR - Spirit
-Increases your Mana Points. 1Spirit =1MP. Increases your magical damage dealing capacity.
-The most important statpoint of a Staff Summoner.
STR - Strenght
-Increases your physical damage dealing abilities.
-The most important statpoint of a Twin Sword Summoner.
HEAL - (Con)
-Increases your Health Points and your Shield.
-Heal should be the second most important statpoint of all Summoners.
3a. Adding Statpoints
Statpoints are very forgiving. Even if you miss one or two statpoints from some stat, it doesnt really matter, since you can add those missing points by leveling up.
Weapons require either SPR or STR + they have a level requirement. Staves require much more SPR than they require STR. Twin Swords require much more STR than SPR. My favorite style to add statpoints (Twin Sword Summoner) is to add statpoints to STR and HEAL throughout the level. And pump the SPR required for the next weapon at the last one or two levels.
Assuming Twin Swords: 4STR 1HEAL per level is probably enough if you do not plan to do much PvP. 3STR and 2HEAL is recommended if you plan to do alot of PvP. You can pump SPR at the last one or two levels to meet the weapons requirements.
Assuming Staves: 4SPR 1HEAL per level for PvE, 3SPR 2HEAL for more PvP orientated statbuild. Pump STR at the last possible level to meet the weapon requirements.
NOTE: There are many, many, many ways to play around with stats, this isnt the only right way, but it’s secure and you most likely wont screw up your stats.
NOTE2: PUT ONLY AS MUCH STR/SPR AS THE WEAPON REQUIRES.
4. Skills
I recommend you to choose Twin Swords in the beginning and start leveling up the Twin Sword side of the combat tree. In my opinion Twin Swords deal more damage, faster and tend to be easier in the beginning.
Twin Sword - Libido
Buy Twin Sword Mastery, Blade Spin. Upgrade these skills until you hit level 15. Buy Libido Mastery and Tarantula. Upgrade all four skills whenever possible. Buy Devil Swing and upgrade Twin Sword Mastery, Blade Spin and Tarantula as often as you can. When reaching level 34 do NOT upgrade your Tarantula anymore, since you will be getting a new pet at 36. Learn Evolt Shot, Spirit Dagger and Blood Bats when you acquire the appropriate level.
Your Blade Spin and Twin Mastery should be maxed out now. Upgrade Libido Mastery, Aldebaran and Devil Swing. Learn Blade Dance at level 52. Learn Poison Sword, upgrade your Twin Sword combat abilities and Libido abilities. Learn Tentator. Level up and upgrade your Libido and Twin Sword Combat abilities until you hit 150 and enjoy.
NOTE: If you want to do PvP at higher lvls you can reset your skills & stats and choose Staff which is considered superior in PvP compared to Twin Swords.
NOTE2: You can learn and upgrade Skin of the Foreign World if you want.
Staff - Beast
Learn Vicious Mastery, Vicious Thorn, Evolt Shot. Upgrade those skills. Learn Beast Mastery, Grewpain and Spirit Dagger (not sure if affected by SPR, if not leave at lvl 1.) Upgrade all of the previous skills. Learn Regulus, Blood Bats, Venom Light. Upgrade all of the previous skills except Grewpain. Learn Summon Ghost and Selaim. Upgrade all of the previous skills except Grewpain and Regulus. Level up and upgrade your Beast and Staff Combat abilities until you hit level 150. Y
NOTE: You can also PvP with this build if you’ve built up enough HEAL.

First, you have the beast and libido switched for staff and twin, although the first beasts are very usefull for staff, the other 2 aren’t that much, but are for Twin, the same aplies to libido, first 2 usefull for twin, other 2 useless, the first pets are the best, if you’re pvping at lvl 150 you should still be using an Aldebaran, 75% chance of stun is just uber. Please do note that the first summons are usefull for BOTH, i just said it that way to explain why you might have gotten it wrong, and this is for PVP, bregon and selaim can be very usefull at PVE.
Twin swords are a lot easier at the begining but if you get used to using staff right from the start, it might be better later on.
Mentioning the usefullness of skills might help this guide, here i’ll help you a bit:
Crosshack: You can upgrade it if you want (you shouldn’t), but after the reset it must remain at 1, its useless. Don’t upgrade it if you’re staff though, that would be just stupid.
Masteries: Raise the mastery specific to your style to its MAX.
BladeSpin: Max it, after the reset make it low priority, lvl it when you have nothing better to spend on, but lvl it nonetheless..
Evolt Shot: Read above, remember the poison damage is always usefull.
Vicious Thorns: MAX IT ASAP, good damage, good cooldown, fast casting, poison, high chance of slowdown, i don’t need to say more do I?
Spirit Dagger: 100% Useless, leave it at 1, maybe a twin summoner can find use for it, i a staff user certainly don’t, i’m not sure it uses STR either.
Skin: Very important for Twin, quite usefull for staff, Max it, the reflected damage can be very usefull.
Devil Swing: MAX IT, very important for twin.
Venom Light: Kinda crappy skill, Max it but make it low priority after the reset, if the cooldown was 2 seconds less it would be MAX IT ASAP, but 6 sec just ruins it.
Blood Bats: Useless at pvp really, its SEMI AoE, it only hits 3 times but can be to diferent enemies, depends if the first one dies in less than 3 hits, there is NO BUG, it’s possible to escape the skill, it still adds recovery though, that is what may be the bug. Awsome at PVE for saving pots.
Summon Ghosts: MAX IT, excelent AOE, will make you lvl up a lot faster, not that much usefull in PVP but still usefull nonetheless.
Blade Dance: Read Above, might be less usefull in PVP though.
Infected Earth: 100% USEFULL, might very well be the best Summoner Skill, yes even more than cosmos, it may not have the eye candy but it sure has the usefullness. MAX IT.
Poison Sword: The only skill that might save a twin summoner at high lvls, MAX IT.
Cosmos: I don’t really have to talk about them do i?
As for pets, choose one kind, and max them all, if you have points left, give priority to the LOW LVL pets, the high lvls are more usefull at PVE but suck at PVP.

2Moons Guides *HOT* Vicious Summoner Guides (3)

Twin Sword Summoners - Experience of Nissan.

From experience I’m currently 71 twin swords summoner at Trieste.
I started playing the game at the very first day it came out. From other MMO’s that I have played mainly FFXI summoners were one of the most liked and needed.
But not knowing anything about 2moons it’s the first job specific character and played. I didn’t realize 2moons was just mainly built on Grinding, and PVP. It’s one of the first MMO I ever played that you can actualy solo your self all the way to the top levels.
Advantage of the summoners to PVE is that you can always direct your pet to attack a mob and from there you can anaylize the dmg your pet does to it, and how fast the mobs HP goes down. Also finding out how much dmg the mob outputs on your pet if it’s safe to fight or not. This is great specially when exploring new places by yourself.
I find out fairly quickly that theres different builds. Not like FFXI where if you play ninja you either blink tank or be a half ass damage dealer. Without switching stats but armors and weapons. With 2moons you have to use stats in order to get the final outcome of your play. Now summoners have 4 builds.
-TWINS DMG DEALER - ALL points to STR and minimum on SPR and whenever you feel like adding HEAL pts.
-MAGIC DMG DEALER - ALL points to SPR and minimum on STR and whenever you feel like adding HEAL pts.
-HEAL BUILD - All pts to HEAL and minimum on STR, SPR for weapons minimum requirement.
-HYBRID - Basicall if your aiming more on twins or staff equal them as close as you can. Put the rest on heal.
This gives you the option to use all Skills, but not at maximum strenght.
At first I always loved playing dual wield on most MMORGS so I went for the Twin swords. Not knowing how to distribute my skills pts correctly I just sorta focused on twinsword stuff and put some skill pts on worthless things. But as I researched more about summoers I reseted my skills and put them accordingly without using any Staff skills.
I built my summoner as a full STR build. But I had such a small amount of HP that at level 55 I had over 200 STR, but with only 2300HP/5500 Shield… So I would PVP and most of the time win if I get the first hits, but if I don’t get the first few hit’s it’s usally an automatic lost. Then once I hit 60 I kept dying at the Crespo Dengeon due to not having a lot of HP and when those mobs come at you before anyone starts any AOE skills I’d be instantly dead.
So I reseted my stats pts to heal build. Miminum requirements on weapon stats, and rest on heal. at 60 I had over 4500HP/and 13k Shield. I can surive now, but only about 300-400dmg less in difference to mobs. So I enjoyed the heal build better than STR builds.
Along with reseting my skills since I’m going twinswords all the way I find that Limbido works better with twins. They don’t do as much damage as beast do, but they have more HP, and Alderbaran at max level just rocks. So I focused my skill points on maximzing Alderberan and the Limbido HP regen/critical pts.
Once you hit 58 you get Tenator which is awesome as well with splash damage, and tons of HP. So even if several mobs rush at you whatever you target Tenator’s splash dmg will end up making the other mobs turn to him so you can focus on one mob without getting any hits. then just kill them off one by one of tenator or even do Sword Dance while his splash AOE will turn them right back to him.
Now that I’m 71 I have closed to about 6k in HP. I can pretty much surive a lot of hits. So instead of putting my stat points in heal I pack back on STR. And minimum on SPR for weapons. It’s working great. also the lvl 70 legendary quest helemt is awesome. If you can put 18+/21+/25+ medials on it x4 it’s good until 90+. I have well over 15.5k Shield/6k HP I rock at PVE, and even PVP. Besieds the AK’s and Bagi’s having all these skills to block your hits, or lower your p.attack, and higher there Def. All I do is run around while Tenator or Aldebaran hit em until their skill resets. It’s part of being a summoner. Don’t let anyone bring you down if they say you can’t PVP without pet.. That’s retarded.. That’s almost telling an Incar to fight without using Magic, or Bagi without using buffs.. Our pet is what makes us strong in an indivdual way.
I find using alderberans on Hunters, Incars, Segnales awesome, and Tenator on Bagi’s, and AK’s. Since Bagi’s and AK’s have lots of def Alderbaran doesn’t do much dmg at all, and it’s stun’s doesn’t last that long where as too Tenators attack goes through def. But with incars, hunters, and segnale they’re not really high def jobs so aldeberan is great. Hope this helps.

Summoner - Staff Guide

1st off best offense is defense.
the pet u choose is all preference.
I chose libido because tarantuala does poison dmg. Which makes lvling fast in the beginning for staffs because the poison stacks.
your build should go 3/2 spirit/health and every 6th lvl 3 strength 1 health and 1 spirit . If you follow this pattern then when you reach the lvl for your next staff which is every six u will be able to weild it.
(Skill tree) my opinion. I like every skill except for summon blades. my suggestion max them except blades and twin slash. ( you can max summon blades l8r when u have extra sp to add for those people who have resistance to poison.
Skin of forgotten realm is very good skill dont listen to the rumors. If you are a pvper its usefull. The skill doesn”t last long but how long do most pvp battles last? your answer Not very long. It adds alot of defense. I have it at lvl 3 right now and it adds like 50 defense not sure exact numbers.
thorns and evolt max them out right away. low mana cost for pve so grinding is good when lvling. also good for pvp but later on that. summon of bats is good for healing and aoe before u get summon of ghosts. good also in pvp my opinion. usually hits enemy 3-4 times and dmg is reasonable. Not a bad skill.
Use poison accesories or magic dmg accessories thats it. forget fire and other elements you’re a summoner not a mage.
(only use element stuff to kill bosses)
Grinding- There is no fast way of lvling except for lvling. 5-12 lvl in noob maze
12-34 castor
34-50 nunvince dungeon requies beach
50-60 castor floor 2- when you reach lvl 52 you get summoner of ghost. aggro mobs to gather your mobs around you and use summoner of ghost and bats. when doing this u will be aoeing and healing. faster experience.
60-crespo ( dungeon )although you can go here at 55
pvp-staff can be very good at pvp.
summoners-worthless fights-if higher lvls u will probably lose if they built right-lower lvls you will win
summoner swords-the trick is fight them head on. 1st cast SOFR tap Tilda summons of bats evolt thorn spam those 3. spam all skills if u have more but evolt and thorn have least cool down and least mana usage which can be a life saver if u need to pot hp. you should push the tilda key after every skill. the tilda key is ~ for those who dont know. use bats often and pot. dnt be cheap buy pots to fill up cuz those could be what saves u in any pvp match. I mean use the right amount for your health and mana. not 480 hp when u have 3500 hp make sense of it. you can win because you should be able to outlast them. You should have more hp and defense. If they have high defense then they are probably to weak to kill you.
summoner staffs-dnt bother fighting unless pking-best tip is be fast at comboing.
mages-tank them- they are easy to overwhelm with summon ,staff, and skills hitting they can die fast even if they are higher lvls. not way higher but within 8 lvls its possible to win.
segnales-same method as mage tank them.
Ash Knight- If lower or even lvl you should be able to tank them. funny thing is most players try to put more offensive dmg which makes it easier for you. if higher lvl keeps as much distance as possible without pulling your summon away from him. Just let your summon do the attking while u run in circles. he will start to get annoyed from your summon and start attking it. this is when u spam skills untill he comes for you. if you feel comfortable with how much dmg you done then tank. if not continue to run. Your summon dmgs enemies hp so either they attk it or you. Kiting can be good if u super pro but much of the time you will find that if you shoot a skill sometimes they sneak a hit in. which can mess up your whole rotation. if u do it right your summon can weaken him big time. you can usually tell when someone is starting to feel like its a losing battle for them.
Bagis-same as Ash Knight.
Hunter Archers- Same as Mages tank em
Hunter Daggers- These girls are tuff. If they built right with health you will find that they cancel skills alot. The aoe can kill you and summon at the same time. if u are using abedon use tarantula. I say this cuz tarantula wont always run to you if attking while abeddon will come close and hunters are close attkers. tank them but use bats and venom shot to push him back while your attking.
beginning of every battle use SOFR and resummon if your beast isn’t full and don’t be afraid to tank just because your staff.
Weaken them b4 tanking unless its a mage segnale or hunter. People have this belief that a staff summoner cant tank. That is false, all extra damage will help.
good trick is using both hands to pvp. one hand for skill keys and the other forr potting.
Please dont flame if its helpful utilize it. If not then you probably know how to play so why are you reading my guide.
goodluck and have fun builds should be your own because if you all build the same then players will no how to counter it. Use it as a guideline.
If you still have questions my IGN is SexGod
I also played 9d by the name of KenshiDemon

New Summoner Guide for Newbies + Walkthrough 1-30

Some new things have been happening after experimenting people have found many ways to build summoners and what skills to use to give them better survival rate.
New ways to build-
1. Pump Str, Health not just Str and keep spirit as low as possible
2. Pump health over Str and low spirit no dex
3. Pump str keep spirit dex and health even
4. Pump spirit and health ignore str and dex ( only enough for weapons )
As you can see many new ways to vary your summoner have been done. Some people have 2k hp at level 20 some have 800 but do 2xs more damage.
Lot have realized staff is better then twinblade for the very reason- Long range, more power, spells keep up with other classes abilities.
im sure all the twinblades out there with high str still getting out damage by azure knights and bagis skills understand what i mean when i say staff magic spells keep up with other classes skills.
reason is because Staff and summoner..derr its a debuff/magic class.. the str multiplyer % on the skills isnt that good so twinblade skills are gimp shit compared to others…my friends bagi does like 1k+ at level 20 and im at 30 with 2xs his str doing 1k with my atk maxed level lol.
PVP
For PvP i still suggest libido pets. Only because the poison, curse, stun and other effects help and they do more dps then beast. Also if you notice armors have resistances which means this game has elemental resistances and beast pets can be nullified greatly.
Both pets are even its been tested they both keep up with each other so basically choose w.e you want.
I’ve heard beast for staff because both ranged or libido because its a tank while you cast. whatever you choose they both work but just remember what i said above for pvp reasons.
summoner still has the best DPS in the game so pvp at early and mid levels is no sweat most dont get more then 5 hits in because of the speed summoners have. High level i expect to see less summoners just because i played dekaron and i had a high level summoner and i know what level 100 pvp fights are like and its not gonna be as easy up there.
Builds
The most widely used build ive noticed is .. this ( im just gonna show stats for a avg level 30 summoner )
Str-100+
health-30+ or -
Spirit-26+ or -
dex-3
this is for twinblade for staff using same idea this what ive found
Spirit-90+
health- 30+ ( higher then that 9 times outa 10 )
dex-3
str- w.e weapon requirement isWalkthrough
1- Start LOA because i find it easier to get around i personally started at braiken and spawns are overcrowded because everyone starts there. and just go out side and kill the white mobs near you. Also get the quest from the guard and talk to skill mastr
2- talk to skillmaster for new quest and go outside kill same white mobs as before. dont try higher and over estimate yourself youll die=P
3-Same thing move up to stronger monsters now
4-Keep on exping in first area of LOA and collect any weapons/armors/items you can and sell what you dont need
5- head to next area if your ready or stay there
6- head to next area
7- attempt first level of newbie dungeon you have to log the quest first its good exp and you should hit 8-9 from it
8- do second part or newbie maze
9- attemp third but youll fail so just go exp at undead in north ares or in LOA kill w.e its white name to you
10- keep exping off those
11- keep exping off those
12- move up to something higher
13- do third newbie maze quest i did it at 12 but some people need extra level or 2 if you cant do it now dont stress level few more
14- head to denebe ( only if you know you can otherwise stay there and exp on highest thing in area )
15- kill lizardman and make sure you log the quest in the area for the mantis
16- keep killing lizardman you should have pet by now so itll help alot
17- head for lizard knights grind there
18- do mantis quest start killing the mantis to the west in the plains. partying helps it go faster
19- keep exping off mantis
20- stay on mantis or go in castor cave and exp off skeles or head to heiharp if both those to much head into norak cave do nightmares make sure to log quest from guard in braiken ( prolly LOA too idk who though )
21- norak if cant handle other areas i suggest start doing higher mobs the vets stay away from large groups of archers
22-25 norak will suffice for this if your still there 22-23 i sugget heading to heiharp or move near the second floor where the strong mobs are. otherwise in heiharp do fenrils still and in castor cave do skeles and eager hands or w.e they are
26-30 this where i deff suggest heiharp multi spawns and partys easy at parka shrine…i suggest setting home point there since youll be here for awhile for future leveling and accessing other areas to exp if you get bored around 28-29 go to frozen valley vengance. otherwise you should level very easily in partys in a large spawn in heiharp
30+ frozen valley
any higher look for other guides its fairly easy to find exp spots my hands cramped and im too lazy to write a 30-150 exp areas.
NOTE: i started in braiken not loa so i dont know the npcs and monsters and crap i honestly never go there except to fish when im lazy lolz… so i didnt name crap but its easy to figure out what i mean anything white to you is basically your target until the 20s because its fast easy dies in 2 shots…faster exp is better exp.
